Perfect Companion for iPad Users Interested in Learning To Play the Keyboard-

BUENA  PARK, Calif.—With the debut of the EZ-220 keyboard at Winter NAMM 2012,  Yamaha continues to offer high-tech functionality that interfaces  with the Apple iPad. Ideal for families that want to learn to play the  keyboard/piano, the keyboard’s USB controller with built-in sounds also  offers computer connectivity for musical applications.

According to Mark Anderson, Yamaha Keyboard Division Marketing Director,  “There's something about lighted-key instruments in Yamaha's EZ  keyboard line that makes learning music more approachable for so many  more people. It was logical to combine this simplicity  with the popularity of the iPad, one of the most user-friendly  electronic devices on the market today.”

Lighted keys, built-in  wireless connectivity to the free Page Turner iPad app and 100 preset  songs with digital score make the EZ-220 the perfect learn-to-play  keyboard. A USB TO HOST port lets you connect the keyboard  to your computer for use with a wide range of music programs for both  education and entertainment. A wide variety of 392 built-in Voices lets  users play strings, guitars, brass, synthesizers, drums and more. The  onboard Yamaha Education Suite provides even  more ways to learn how to play. Finally, 100 preset Styles act as  virtual bands always ready to jam whenever you are. There's even a specially designed clip that secures an iPad to the included music rest.

“Yamaha's EZ models have always been great instruments for someone  learning to play,” says Electronic Keyboard Product Manager Nate  Tschetter. “The EZ-220 takes another step forward with its wireless Page  Turner app. It enables you to stay focused on playing  by watching the music and keys without the need for any configuration  or special cables in the high end, just like a real piano.”

The EZ-220 is slated for shipping in Spring 2012.
