  • Zion Guitar Technology Introduces The Zion Ninety Custom Electric Guitar

    By Guest |

For 2007, Zion Guitar Technology™ is introducing some new and exciting guitar lines. One of the guitars from this line-up is the Zion Ninety™ Custom from the Artwood Series™. The Artwood Series™ offers unique hardwoods not traditionally found on Zion's standard custom shop instruments with a variety of custom hardware and electronics available.

The guitar pictured was built for G. Schmitt of Virginia Beach, VA. It features a custom-designed pickguard surrounding Johnny Lang Signature Seymour-Duncan pickups, hard-mounted to the body for additional resonance, a feature originally offered on the Ty Tabor signature guitars. The Zion Ninety™ Custom offers a string through body design with a German ABM non-trem bridge for increased tone and sustain.

The body is made from lightweight Swamp Ash featuring a semi-hollow design and is capped with very rare quilted Swamp Ash. The guitar is available with or without a "Comfort Contour" back that is noticeably more comfortable than a traditional flat back body.

The 22-fret 25.5" scale neck and fingerboard are both Eastern Hard Maple with a quilted Swamp Ash headcap. The headstock features a 7 degree tilt-back design for improved sustain, which also eliminates the need for a string tree.
