  • Eastwood Guitars introduces the new California Rebel

    By HC News |

Eastwood Guitars introduces the California Rebel, a tribute replica to the extremely rare 1967 Domino Californian Rebel. This definitive 60’s surf style guitar was a hybrid of the VOX Phantom, the EKO Violin and Mosrite and in a class of its own. The Eastwood California Rebel replicates the vintage original in every detail, but as with all Eastwood models there have been some solid improvements.

The new Eastwood California Rebel features a lightweight German carved top, tone chambered mahogany body and is available in Redburst and Vintage White with the signature full size wood grain pickguard with single f-hole. This 24 ¾” scale guitar has a 21 fret bolt-on fast playing maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and measures 1 5/8” at the nut. The vintage sound is delivered through a pair of custom designed EW RTG Single Coil pickups with a 3-way switch along with individual rhythm/solo switches per pickup, one volume and one tone control. The roller bridge has a super smooth tremolo tail just like the original. Surfs Up!

“I’ve always had a soft spot for the crazy surf style of the ’67 Domino Californian Rebel" said Mike Robinson, President and founder of Eastwood Guitars, "and from the early response that we’ve had to the Rebel, it looks like I wasn’t alone.”
