  • Dean Guitars Expands Select Series With Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst - Winter NAMM 2020

    By HC News |

TAMPA, FL (Jan. 8, 2020) — Dean Guitars is riding a wave of innovation into the New Year with the introduction of the new Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst electric guitar. Beyond its stunning new quilt top finish with matching headstock, this new Cadi offers so much more than meets the eye. Like all Dean Guitars, this model is designed for musicians by musicians, as evident through the selection of professional-grade components. With a splash of class and sophistication that can shred, the Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst is a top-tier instrument that players can afford.

The start of a new decade has presented Dean Guitars an opportunity to update timeless designs with desirable new features. The Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst starts with the classic Cadillac body style made of mahogany with a quilt maple flat top and set-thru neck construction. Like other new Select Series models, this Cadi features an easy-access satin neck made of 3pc mahogany for ease of playing and endurance. On this model, the V-shape, 22-jumbo fret neck, at 24 3/4’’ (629 mm) scale, is supported by a dual-action truss rod, and has a 12-inch (305 mm) radius with an ebony fretboard and pearloid block inlays. The 5-ply body and headstock binding and single-ply neck binding add a refined touch.

As its name implies, the Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst offers a Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo bridge and a corresponding Floyd Rose R3 nut at 1 11/16’’ (43 mm) nut width. The Floyd Rose system locks the strings in providing tuning stability. Grover® tuners at the headstock assist with precise and consistent tuning. Whether shredding or divebombing, the Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst is designed for players to catch their own wave of inspiration with confidence.

The Seymour Duncan TB5 bridge pickup and APH-1 neck pickup are exclusive to Dean Guitars and new additions to the latest Select Series models. Beyond their distinct zebra parchment finish and sandblasted pole pieces, these pickups offer a versatile, full tone that’s ideal for many styles and genres. The simple four speed black knobs control volume and tone, and keep the player focused on playing. The audio taper pots provide that smooth roll without destroying the tone.

As an added benefit, players can enjoy all of the high-end features of the Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst at a street price of $999, a price point that won’t destroy their bank account.

Prior to the 2020 NAMM Show, Dean Guitars, an Armadillo Enterprises brand, introduced the Cadi Select Quilt Top Floyd Ocean Burst and other new Select Series guitars at the company’s Armadillo All Access event at its Tampa headquarters. The exclusive event consisted of factory tours, artist clinics, product demos, one-of-a-kind instrument displays, dealer meetings, performances by some of Armadillo’s “A-list” artists, and more. The inaugural event gave dealers, distributors, brand ambassadors, and artists a more in-depth look inside the development and crafting process of these world-class instruments, and a behind-the-scenes look into just what exactly makes Armadillo so special.

Dean Guitars product representatives will also be in attendance at the 2020 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, for industry meetings and to answer questions about new 2020 Select Series models.
