Vicoustic Launches Flexi Kick Drum Panel

Acoustic solutions manufacturer, Vicoustic, has announced the launch of its new Flexi Kick Drum panel for acoustic treatment of kick drums in both recording and live performance situations.

Flexi Kick Drum works as an acoustic damper, absorbing unwanted overtones across a broad frequency bandwidth. The flexible foam panel fits inside the drum, acoustically dampening the internal reflections from its shell, while physically dampening any additional harmonics from the drum's front and rear skins. The panel's density and multi-cavity design help create the right attack and control the sound of the kick drum without compromising its "character". Designed for use with any size of kick drum, the panel can simply be cut to fit, using the supplied diagram.

"Flexi Kick Drum treats the kick drum like an acoustician would treat a recording studio to eliminate unwanted reflections and resonances" explains Vicoustic developer Jorge Castro. "The special medium density foam has proved to be more effective than many other materials and the panel itself can be adapted and fitted in just a few minutes."

Flexi Kick Drum is the latest addition to Vicoustic's series of portable acoustic solutions, which also include Flexi Walls, Flexi Screen and Flexi Screen Lite.
