  • Submersible Music To Preview DrumCore 2 At Winter NAMM

    By Guest |

Submersible Music (NAMM Booth #6225 Hall A) will be previewing a new version of its popular DrumCore software at the upcoming NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. DrumCore 2 adds top features requested by users and reviewers which includes syncing to ReWire host tempos and separate outputs for its MIDI drum module sounds (kick, snare, etc.). The new version will also increase the number of included loops, fills, hits, and kits. DrumCore 2 will add country drums by Lonnie Wilson, odd time signature (5/4, 7/8, etc.) variations by Alan White, plus double-kick pop/rock/progressive beats by Terry Bozzio (Jeff Beck, Missing Persons).

DrumCore is designed for producers, songwriters, composers, and musicians who want easy access to great grooves in a multitude of styles. It consists of multiple DVDs containing the DrumCore application and content (audio and MIDI grooves plus drumkit sounds) by renowned drummers. These include Terry Bozzio (Missing Persons, Jeff Beck), Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver), Sly Dunbar (Bob Marley), Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Jeff Anthony (Sheryl Crow), John Bishop (Ernie Watts), Ben Smith (Heart), Tony Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt), Ned Douglas (Dave Stewart), DJ Syze-up (Ultra Nate), Michael Shrieve (Santana), Alan White (John Lennon, Yes) and Lonnie Wilson (Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flats). DrumCore provides a loop librarian for finding content; a MIDI drum module for playing drum sounds via MIDI; ReWire, ASIO and platform audio support; and easy export with drag and drop support for popular applications (including Pro Tools, Logic, Digital Performer, Sonar, Cubase/Nuendo and others).

    New DrumCore 2 Features:

Tempo Sync-sync DrumCore playback to the tempo of any ReWire host

DrumCore 2 syncs to any ReWire host at any tempo, with up to three decimal places of accuracy (121.058 bpm, for example). Also DrumCore can now sync in the middle of a loop, not just from the loop's beginning. Get real drummer feel at multiple bpms plus the in-between tempos.

MORE content plus MORE genres-inspiration is just a click away

The new version will include even more content, and expand the groove styles you get with DrumCore. Country content is included from Lonnie Wilson (two time winner of the ACM "Country Drummer of the Year" award). Odd meters (5/4, 7/8, 9/8) are represented by expanded Alan White (Yes) content, and there's smokin', new double-kick pop/rock/progressive content from Terry Bozzio (Missing Persons, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa). Both audio (48kHz/24-bit) and MIDI grooves are included, with GrooveSets recorded at 10 bpm increments, (as drummers play differently at different tempos). Content was recorded in professionally designed studios using state-of-the-art digital (Pro Tools HD3) and analog (SSL 9000, Neve, etc.). And of course this means more MIDI drumkits too!

MIDI Drum Module-separate stereo outs for all drums

DrumCore 2's MIDI drum module features separate stereo outputs for each drum pad (snare, kick¿). Each sound can be routed to the inputs of your ReWire hosts' mixer, to allow mixing and plug-in processing of these sounds within your host (Pro Tools, Logic, Sonar, Cubase, etc.). DrumCore comes loaded with each drummer's great sounding drumkits that often feature one-of-a-kind, custom-built drums and cymbals. Kits can be used to play included MIDI grooves or for creating your own beats using a MIDI sequencer/DAW. And of course users can create their own drumkits with their own WAV or AIFF libraries, or by mixing and matching with the included DrumCore sounds.

    REX support

Now all DrumCore 2 content can be exported as REX2 files plus you can use DrumCore 2 as a librarian for any REX2 content! Export options make it easy to get DrumCore content into any audio software. Drag DrumCore content to a REX-compatible DAW track and tempos stay "flexible".

    Standard DrumCore Features:

Loop Librarian/Search Engine-the fastest way to the perfect groove

The DrumCore search engine provides quick access to thousands of grooves, fills, variations and individual drum sounds. Search content based on drummer, style (rock, funk, country, and others), feel (straight, shuffle, etc.), time signature and tempo. Users can change criteria (create a new "style" for example) and enter their own comments for searching. It is a great tool for organizing audio and MIDI libraries.

GrooveSets-building blocks for creating a great drum track

Content is organized in "GrooveSets", with a basic groove, variations and fills that support standard song structure (intros, verse, chorus, etc.).

The "Gabrielizer"-fuel for the creative process

DrumCore's "Gabrielizer" technology intelligently generates variations on audio or MIDI content based on a set of "drummer rules". Gabrielized files can be saved back into your library and/or exported to your digital audio workstation (DAW). Cut it up from mild to wild with the Gabrielizer!
