Tama is offering an entirely new line of ultra-durable hardware which has been designed for and with the input of pro-players. The new Roadpro lines will Tama's standard line of hardware for its top-of-line kits.

"Every pro has had some kind of a bad experience with hardware," commented Tama's Ace Okamoto of Tama. "We catalogued their complaints, came up with solutions and then put those solutions into designs for the new line." The new hardware features the same sized tripod basses as Tama's heavy duty New Titan hardware, but the middle and upper tubes are thinner for better balance and to better fit many of Tama's attachments such as the MTH900 Modular Tom Holder.

There are many small but very significant improvements. The snare stand features new "Escape Claws" rubber tips which eliminate snare hoop choking by the snare basket claws. The gears on the snare basket and the cymbal stands have nearly twice as many teeth for finer adjustments. On the cymbal holders the rods are 2mm thicker for increased durability. The die-cast pipe joints utilize a bolt and nut deesign instead of a direct bolt insert which provides more security and makes replacement much easier.

All the changes, according to Okamoto, were to make life easier for the pro. "The goal of the line was 'Simplicity and Durability for the Pro Drummer.' I think all players will be very happy with what our hardware designers accomplished. And that will make Tama retailers very happy."
