  • Hal Leonard and Worship Musician Present The Worship Drum Book

    By Jon Chappell |

Montclair, NJ (May 23, 2013) – The Worship Drum Book: Concepts to Empower Excellence is a powerful guide for drummers playing in both contemporary and traditional churches that are transitioning into using full rhythm sections rather than just organ or piano. This book covers methods of playing and explains concepts for touring with ministry groups and worship artists. But most of all, it will help drummers understand their calling as a minstrel for the Lord in the modern worship world, and have the drums speak from their heart.

Developing great drumming skills along with an understanding of spiritual matters is of the utmost importance. Therefore, while this book addresses important traditional drumming techniques and concepts, it also explains the unique role that drummers – or musicians of any sort – have as minstrels in the house of the Lord.

With over 30 years of experience in the modern worship movement, author Carl Albrecht has a vast knowledge of what drummers need to know to adapt to modern music being brought into the church. The adoption of drums into church worship services can be a controversial issue, so Albrecht shares ways that drummers can be sensitive to the congregation and leaders and yet play with authority and confidence.

The author and his wife, Leann, minister to churches and worshippers all around the world while also sharing an active ministry in their home church in Nashville. With The Worship Drum Book, Albrecht accompanies readers on their journey of discovering the spirit behind the artistry of the modern worship drummer.
