  • New Ibanez SRA Bass Brings Best of Both Slim & Heavy Worlds

    By Guest |

In 2010, Ibanez introduces the SRA, the newest, affordable addition to its SR family of bass guitars. For the SRA, Ibanez forged the "Slim & Fast" of their SR Soundgear bass model with the "Heavy Bottom" of the SRX Soundgear Xtreme to beget this new monster. SRA basses feature contoured arched tops with flat-back bodies. EMG¿¿-HZ pickups are onboard, for smoother attack and a flatter high end—from classic rock to heavy metal, these pickups perform. The SRA500 four-string and SRA505 five-string feature beautiful quilted maple tops and mahogany bodies with the EQB-3C 3-band EQ. The even more affordable SRA300 four-string and SRA305 five-string feature mahogany bodies with the PHAT active bass boost. The SRAs are the perfect answer for players who want heavy sound without the heavy price. Since the "SR Revolution" in 2008, the Ibanez SR "Slim & Fast" concept has dominated the bass world and catapulted Soundgear to one of the very top bass series in the U.S.

I have an SRA 300 PW (Pearl White). It is an awesome instrument, at any price, but very affordable. I used to play Fenders, but this bass is bad to the bone. I have DR fluorescent orange strings on it, and really looks cool. It packs a punch that allows me to actually get a lot more out of my amp ( a Marshall MB 150). I love it.
