Members Nijyo
Yos, So I have an RG4EXFM1 that I just replaced the INF4 at the bridge with a SDJB tonight on my own. After going through the alchemy of finding the proper wiring (5-way switch, 1 more wire than in the original) everything seems to be good, however.... Now when put the guitar face-on to some amp speakers (tried it with a Crate tube amp and a Crate SS) I get something that sounds a *lot* like a 60Hz hum, but if I step away from the amp OR I turn the guitar on its side (so the pickups face up or down, at a right angle to the amp speakers) the problem goes away. So, it kinda sounds like a ground issue, but the INF3 at the neck position also does it now, and neither did it before, and the problem going away when I don't face the pickup towards the amp makes me think it might be something else. Any ideas?

Members Nijyo
How's the grounding in your house? Good enough *shrug* I thought about that for a bit, but it wasn't a problem before the surgery. Not sure how that would line up with the whole "point away from the speakers" behavior, too? Members electricface
You switch from light BULBS to fluorescent? That COULD be it...
Members Nijyo
Nope, all the same sorts of environmental stuff like that.
Members Nijyo
Incidentally, setting an NS-2 properly fixed the problem, so
Members cratz2
Any chance it's the 5 way switch? Did that come out of another guitar or was it purchased new?
