I scored a Jackson

I'm not sure if it's a Surfcaster or a Outcaster.

there's no "SC1" or "OC1" anywhere.

serial # 503318

I think it is an Outcaster becuz:

surfcasters have stringthru design and the pickup switch is on the bottom horn.

mine is like this, but dark purple

notice the bridge is wrap around, and the switch is near the vol&tone

so... if this is an Outcaster, what is it worth??

I paid 100$ off craigslist. has some scratches, pickups are great. like the combo of the lipstick with exposed HB.

the body is almost as light as my old Dano U2-6 and the neck is super thin.

any idea what it's worth?

they were only made for 2 years

the girl I got it from says her dad got it new 10 years ago for 300$

Probably around...

$300.

Maybe more, maybe less. They're not as desirable or known as the more "retro" Charvel Surfcasters, so their prices can fluctuate pretty wildly. Still, way cool guitars.

ah, still got a pretty good deal, only paid 100bucks

I only got it cuz it looks alot like my Ibanez Talman

weird thing is, they came out around the same time and both made in Japan

the Talman and Out/Surf caster feel and sound real different tho

ya i guess any guitar is great for 100 bucks!

the solid bodies are nothing like the Charvel ones, no cool f-hole, and just dot inlays. no rick sound at all

with the low output lipstick in the neck and the snarly exposed HB in the bridge, this guitar sounds like a Tele knock off.
