Islam see itself as the next exstension yet of These traditional faiths. my advice. Learn some history before you flap your gums needlessly about the superiority of any religion. Just because you can look up 'facts' on the internet does not make you a Biblical scholar or an expert in comparative religion. Jehovah God was and is the God of Israel. All the other nations were into idol worship (Baal, etc). Ishmael is the son of Abraham (through his Egyptian maidservant) and is the father of the Arab race. Ishmael may have worshipped Jehovah because He spared his life when his mother cried out to God. The god of Islam is not Jehovah God. If you don't believe me, why don't you go to your local mosque and ask them why they can't get along with the Jews since they both worship the same god. Let me know how that works out for you.

Members andrewmoquin09 Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 We can see Him through our neighbor or other person around us who has a good heart. Therefore, He is not dead. He's been watching us everyday and He is not tired of guiding and taking care of us.
Members Cry Logic Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 Oh dear didn't take long for the reality of "god" to rear it's ugly head eh?See what "god" does to people? One of the most divisive, destructive and negativeconcepts humans have ever come up with!
Members Anderton Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 God sent me an email today (I know for most other people He's a voice in their head, but for some reason, He sends me email. He's on gmail, in case you wondered.) Anyway, he says "Be excellent to each other" is a pretty good summary of what he'd like us to do. He also thinks everyone takes this whole subject way too seriously. He says your priority should be taking care of those in your immediate life. He also says he thinks analog is better than digital, but I think He might have been pulling my leg. God has a rather puckish sense of humor.

Members mikeymdl Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 Sorry guys, but I am going to have to bail on this one. I don't see enough meaningful dialogue to continue any further. Everyone seems to be majoring on the minor points so much as to not see the big picture. The degree of Biblical illiteracy in the US is a sad and frightening commentary on our country since we were for the most part founded by a bunch of gun toting Bible thumpers. The possession on information does not make one knowledgable. The possession of knowledge does not make one wise. Peace!

Members Kaux Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 Rather than basing my faith in "historical facts" (possibly distorted in so many ways), I base it in my experiences, not even in what people at my church says...I guess every one should do that. If you believe, or If you dont, it should be based in personal experiences. And +1 to what Craig says...PD God invented analog, it is in the nature... men invented digital

Members Pianoman1976 Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 "Personal experience" is the only route to true spirituality and a relationship with a higher power. This is not a matter of "fact", nor is this up for argument. The problem I have with the church is that most tell you what to believe - without giving you the tools to discover these profound truths out on your own. I have deep issues with fundamentalist Jews, Christians and Islam - but I don't knock God, the Bible or the Koran for this. There's a lot of misinterpretation of the message going on. My God rocks and has performed miracles in my life. If you don't have a higher power, you can borrow mine for a bit and see that I do know what I'm talking about.
Members Jon Gnash Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 Jesus spoke of this quite a few times. His talks with and about the Pharisees spoke to this. Jesus probably never existed. The name Jesus is interchangeable with Joshua, and Joshua worship can be traced back long before the time when Jesus allegedly lived.Mark is first and only real gospel. Matthew and Luke are just remixes of Mark (and another document called Q). In many places they copied Mark verbatim. (The gospel of John is slightly different; it
