You may have heard about the Charity Poker Event that's coming up on July 19th at The Village Studios. I just wanted to take a few minutes of your time to explain a few things about how this event came to be. Please read to the end even if you're not into poker. Here's the prize list so far as an example of the generosity of the sponsors and to inspire you to read this long post;

Telefunken Ela M 251F

Bricasti M7 Reverb

Summit Everest ECS-410 Channel Strip

Brainworx bx_bundle - 8 Plug-ins - TDM Version

Royer R-121 ribbon mic and an AT-84 shock mount

Antares Auto-Tune Vocal Studio TDM

SPL Analog Code

Man I'd give one of my kidneys to be there and teach you guys a little poker lesson,.. ;-)

I can't donate any money but I'll be glad to mix a song for one of the winners for free.

Hey Booshy,

Wish you could make it. If this thing turns out like I hope it does, then it could be the first of many and hopefully internationally and not just in L.A.

I appreciate your offer for the mix. Maybe you could mix something directly for the charity. I'll let you know.

Best,

Dave

This seems like a ton of fun, Dave. I'm not a poker guy, but it seems like a blast. Karen is, in her usual way, doing an awesome job of raising awareness of the event. I hope you get a great turnout!

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the encouragement. If you're around, it would be great to have you there as a spectator if you don't want to play. We're trying to work out the details of having spectators because of the fire code limits. As we get closer, I'll make an announcement.

Best,

Dave
