Just bought a Tonelab...

Okay, after trying the ST model yesterday, I was hooked. However, I wanted the LE model, as it was just bigger, and more user-friendly looking...and had a full-size pedal on it. I thought it would be a while, as they are $399 new, and I don't have that kinda scratch right now. But, I was looking online, and found a used one in good shape for an amazingly low price...so I couldn't pass it up. Gonna sell a mic, and maybe another pedal to pay for it, but I'm not using that stuff right now anyways.

This is the pic of it...should be here first of next week...:)

I've got the blue desk top model. Can't remember the model number right now. But they're nice and you get a lot for the money. Some of the modulation effects could be a bit better, but they are good for a all in one unit. Plus I've found with mine that with noodling around with the amp types x cabinet types x the various gains, it seems like an almost infinite permutation of tones.

I was using mine mostly with a Roland JC120. I found that it didn't quite make it sound like those amps, but flavored its tone towards those amps. At one point I was convinced that it was working much better going through the effects loop, and then later I wasn't sure since I was having some issues with the gain levels on the back of both units.

But anyway, try it both ways and enjoy! I think they are a nice unit. Korg IIRC

Congrats on the new "box o' cheat" there Steve.
;):thu:

:D Thanks man. Just decided it was much easier...and MUCH cheaper (like the price of a new Boss chorus) than trying to buy individual pedals and different amps to get the different tones I wanted. Also like having the ability to plug straight into a PA. This will be nice at church, where amps are often overkill.

Hope you like it. I still love mine and I've had it for two years... maybe more. I mostly just play into tube amps with a single pedal, but the Tonelab/Prowler combo is still great, esp considering I have a hair under $300 in both of them.

One of the neatest things about the modelers is, you can have crazy, believable high gain and volume levels so low, a kid can be sleeping in the same room while you are playing. That's not the way to have the most fun, but it's pretty cool.

That's what I like about it. Great tone, even at low volume...and a small footprint.
