I did ask Craig for permission before I posted this message, so please, no flaming. :thu:

I truly am not trying to sell books, but simply offer a service for my HC friends. Several HC forum members contacted me asking if I could ask my pal Bruce Swedien to autograph or personalize his new book, "In the Studio with Michael Jackson".

I talked to Bruce the other day and he was thrilled and honored to do it for the HC folks. I am trying to make it a simple process for him, so here is how it will work. Order your book from Sweetwater and tell us how you want it inscribed. I will hold all orders until September 10th and then I will put them all in one box and ship them to Bruce. He will autograph each book and then we will send them out to you. This is a one time offer and we are only offering it to HC folks...not to our regular customers and not to other forum members.

You can order it from your sales engineer 800 222 4700 or online @

By the way, it is a great book. I was fortunate enough to proofread an early copy more than a year ago and it is simply amazing. Although there are many references to Michael, the book is really about Bruce, Quincy, studio recording, techniques, history and lots of great music. If you are in this industry in any way, it is a great read. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks and enjoy.

I dunno where you do that on the form, but maybe you should call in. I just did, and the salesperson was already familiar with the offer.

I am super excited about reading this book!!! When I first started getting into engineering, Bruce Swedien was someone I really admired. Much of it was his recordings, from MJ to Count Basie, but a lot of it was from reading interviews of him. Here was a guy who had been working for decades, and he was still super enthusiastic, bubbling with passion. He was making recordings with an amazing sense of space and depth...and he was as excited about making them as a kid in a candy store.

And then to add to it, Phil and Boosh are in the book as well. And it's about the recording sessions with MJ! Cool!!!
