Looks like a cross between an Iceman, a Strat and a DiPinto - but I like it ;^)

ACK! Looks like something Picasso puked up.

Not to quote the "puked up" part, because I already said I liked it, of course, there's other guitars I rather have for 5-grand (rough guess on a negotiated price).

But what you said made me think of - ".....or Salvador Dali"

If I am correct, Korina is lighter than mahogany...

Yes, I believe from the feel that it is a bit lighter. I find that it imparts a little bit of a semi-hollow tone to a guitar.

This is the description Warmoth uses on its wood selection menu

bwds_whitekorina_lpw.jpg

"Korina, White (Terminalia superba):

Its true name is Limba from Africa. White Korina is a medium to heavy weight wood Korina has a naturally waxy feel to it. The tone is very similar to Mahogany with added mids. An excellent tonal choice for hollow chambered bodies. With a Vintage Tint Gloss on it, it resembles the famous Korina Flying Vs of the late 50s. "

Now compare that to their "Tone-O-Meter" for mahogany

and this is what they say about Mahogany:

We use African Mahogany in our body production. It is a medium to heavy weight wood with a Strat
