Members docjeffrey
I posted awhile back (before the Winter break) about the weird sounds (ghost notes) eminating from the general area of the tailpiece after I installed a set of Pyramid flatwound strings on my Starfire.Well, it turned out to be the strings. They just don't work on that guitar. I tried three different bridges (original rosewood, roller, and Nashville TOM) with no luck.Yesterday I gave up and went back to D'adarrio 11's and left the roller bridge in place. Voila. Not a hint of ghost notes, and the guitar is perfectly intonated. Sounds fantastic.

Members Teletypist
Funny thing, I had the same problem when I tried them on one of my Washburn Jazz boxes. Took me a while to figure it out because I had changed the pickups at the same time, and thought the problem was rooted in that change. At some point I went to roundwounds and that cured the problem. Also tried the Chromes and D'Aquisto flats, no problem with them either.
