Members dkratz
Ok, this is a dumb question, but I'm kind of confused. Can someone tell me the difference between a Bigsby B7, a Bigsby B70, and a Bigsby B700? Is the B7 a true Bigsby and the others Bigsby licensed vibratos? Are the licensed versions as good as the real thing?
Members mrbrown49
The licenced (70) version uses different bearings but that's just about it. I've played both and they felt similar.

Members mrbrown49
i have a b-70 too. I like it. Feels nice and solid I've only tried new ones. Have you noticed any changes in the smoothness or feel? Lovely LP btw. Those wilky roller bridges really help when using a bigsby with a tension bar. Members Carbohydrates
Pretty sure it goes: B7 = USA, aluminum/nickelB70 = import, aluminum/nickelB700 = import, die cast al/chrome
Members Wyatt
The American is sand cast, both imports are die cast. Sand casting requires making a unique negative mold out of sand to pour the aluminum into for each one. Die cast uses the same reusable die mold over and over again. The American B* series uses pin bearings on the roller. They look something like this... The import B*0 series uses nylon bushings on the roller... Also the some screw locations are different between two the American and import models. I really don't know much about the B700, I think the B*00 series was originally only available as low cost OEM parts to guitar manufacturers.
