Members succor
Already guys- stupid question, but I'm kind of torn here and need some input: My girlfriend's the drummer. I have a few gifts for her, including two new cymbals + stands and a killer throne. Do I just wrap everything in the included boxes, OR not wrap anything and just set it up? I'm a gear whore and I love unpacking new stuff I receive, but is it lame to give a gift that way? Thanks for the advice
Members Vintage55
Any way you can sub the stuff into her set (I assume she has one already setup)? Surprise her by having her sit down to play and there it all is...

Members PanaDP
Keep em boxed and let her have the fun of setting them up. This. A big chunk of the fun is unpacking new gear.
Members KidEh
Exactly. Opening is the fun of presents. I mean, I already know what the stuff I want looks like

If you can't find the right forum to ask such a question you probably got her the wrong thing anyway. Don't lose the receipt.
Members Superrust
I always stick with "how would I like them" and go from there. I would want to open a new guitar in it's case rather than see it on a guitar stand...

I would want to open a new guitar in it's case rather than see it on a guitar stand... This. Another alternative would be to put them all in a gigantic box with lots of tape, bubble wrap, newspaper and anything else you can think of to make getting to the stuff difficult. Seriously, sometimes women will question whether the stuff is new if it isn't in it's sealed box.

It was an innocent question.
