Members The Bear
Yes, I'm still fartin' around with this thing.I bought a pickguard from GFS.Man what fast shipping.Anyway, all the humbucker pickups won't fit because of the tabs, too long.No I don't want to take my Dremel to the guitar.I'm just thinking of going ahead and getting a couple of GFS pickups for it.I've been listening to clips of the GFS Fat Pats.Anyone have experience with these in a strat? (Now I wish I just would have went ahead and bought a loaded pickguard from Jay.)Oh well, gotta go with what I gots'.
Members Anonymous Guy
The loaded pickguards use generic Chinese humbuckers, so you're probably better off not getting those. The GFS Fat Pats are very nice and full from what I've heard. Probably good to thicken up a strat a bit.
Members wagdog
I actually had a set of fat pats in a HSH strat (now a HHH strat w/2x lil' killers and a crunchy rails). Honestly, I hated the fat pats. Muddy, and didn't clean up well. I really like the crunchy rails better.
Members vintage clubber
Don't the GFS pickups have legs on their tabs too? I know Kent Armstrong humbuckers have the mounting tabs flush to the base plate.

They do, but on some pics they don't look like they are as long as Gibsons and some pics they look flat.Guess I'll have to ask JayThanks
