Members cooterbrown Posted October 22, 2009 Members Posted October 22, 2009 Here's a cool trick I use sometimes. After all the guitars are recorded and it still needs some of that acoustic guitar strumming sound, except there really isn't any room for it... I take a very thin pick and strum an acoustic while muting the whole guitar. Then I do the same again and pan wide. Chicki-chiki chik. Gotta be a very thin picks. It like a an egg shaker sorta kinda. Almost like Johnny Cash putting tissue paper under his strings, to get that "train sound'.
Members Mark L Posted October 23, 2009 Members Posted October 23, 2009 Not at all... but do yourself a favor and get a felt pick and experiment with that too - it can give you a sound that is closer to the sound of using your fingers to pluck the strings, but with the "feel" of playing with a pick. BTW, I got your PM, and will change your custom title shortly. Thanks for the tip, Phil When you say 'shortly', how long do you mean? I'm the subject of ridicule the length and breadth of the HC forums (But then it was ever thus......)
