Members jpnyc
I wonder what inspires them to make some of these wacky guitars. Does one person have a custom done and after that Kurt lists it in case someone else wants one? Anyway, it
Members DarkHorseJ27
The only two things I can think it might be good for is for slide or if you put a Sustainer in the neck.
Members Mr_GoodBomb
As if 12-strings aren't a pain enough to tune already, and fretless guitars aren't difficult enough to find proper placement and intonation...
Members roygbiv
well, if you want to have yr own sound and not be like anyone else, that's yr guitar. in fact, I'm seriously considering buying it.
Members ExiledCrow
I dig that they make the weird ones! It gives people a lot of opportunity to experiment with out having to drop big bucks.

Members cratz2
I agree... I can't see it being terribly useful. It would be lead only, there's no way you could be playing full chords, all properly intonated. I did dig the fretless Agiles when they first came out but I kept hoping he'd blow them out for half off or more. Hasn't happened to far so I guess someone is buying them. Im pretty sure if 6 year old little girls can play paganini caprices on a tiny frettless violin, there are plenty of people that will get good enough on a guitar like this instrument to make the time worth the trouble. Members MoreGuitars
That would have to be a play before you buy guitar. I own a fretted 12 with the humbuckers, and I prefer single coil pickups when playing a electric 12.

Im pretty sure if 6 year old little girls can play paganini caprices on a tiny frettless violin, there are plenty of people that will get good enough on a guitar like this instrument to make the time worth the trouble. Hey, I've seen some competitors at the Indianapolis International Violin Competition several of the last 5 competitions and I spent 6 years playing cello, viola and bass. I'm not knocking the ability to play a fret-less instrument. :poke:I'm questioning how widely usable a fretless 12 string guitar is. Can you envision playing anything resembling fast chording on a fretless 12 string guitar?A lot of folks have trouble playing full barre chords on a 6 string fretted guitar. More folks have trouble playing full barre chords on a 12 string fretted guitar. I can see using it for middle eastern or eastern European lead stuff but I question how different it would be compared to a guitar with a delay, and octave pedal and a little modulation.I'm all for new ideas, this just seems like it would be pretty far down the list. Just my opinion, man.
Members Trotskyismyniec
this one separates them men from the boys from the men that do entirely too many drugs. that said, if this had dots and lines where the frets would be, like some fretless basses I've seen, then I'd have to seriously consider being putting the money down to be 'that dude'. Members jpnyc
Cratz, you’re probably right about it’s utility, but that’s what makes it so great as an Agile. Most companies would never produce that guitar, they would just tell you to call a great Luthier. The companies that might produce it would only sell it as a very expensive signature model—see the 8-string PRS baritone. But Agile brings it out at $400—a price that any kid in Kansas can afford if he works enough weekends delivering pizzas. Somebody is going to figure out what that guitar is good for, and if we’re lucky he’ll put an album out, it will catch on, and we can all enjoy ripping him off with our $400 Agile guitars! From different finishes to funky options (left handed trem on a righty guitar ala SRV) to unusual pickups (P90s in a strat). I just see a lot of frustration coming from a fretless 12 string with no fret markers.Again, I hope it does great. The fretless guitars in general must be doing decent from him or he wouldn't be adding new models and as I said, I was tempted to get a fretless 6 string, but a fretless 12 string just seems like it would be a major challenge.Again... just my opinion. Members pink freud
Exactly. This is a glissentar + 1 more string. Not nylon of course, but its more electric oriented.
