Members danhan1113
I am in complete shock right now. The drummer from Avenged Sevenfold, James "The Rev" Sullivan died today. I used to be a HUGE fan of Avenged Sevenfold, and even though I haven't really listened to them all that much recently, I and really sad that he has passed. He was a great drummer who hadn't reached his peak yet. I just wanted to let everyone know, in case you hadn't found out yet.
Members Mr_GoodBomb
He was an excellent drummer. Was really into them in high school, a bit ashamed of that now. But anyway, it absolutely sucks. A terrible time to be a junked-up celebrity.

Members MikeCampbellCKY
personnally, I agree with aenemated. You buy the ticket you take the ride. IMO, Advendged Sevenfold is a bunch of rich dudes who make {censored}ty music and get paid more then small time bands that can't get what they deserve because they sound different then what's "cool" nowadays. The music industry is entirely {censored}ed if {censored}ty emo bands like them is all they'll allow now. Well, they'll make their money, but for the people who still listen to actual music(people like me) will get {censored}ed without vaseline. They'll get {censored}ed eventually with all the illegal downloading 13 year old kids do now. I haven't even listened to the radio in 3 years because of the bull{censored}. It makes me depressed Oh, and the singer will never shut the {censored} up. Can he shut the {censored} up and let the guitarist in for a minute? Or what about the drum- oh {censored}, I forgot ;)

The coroner claimed his death was from natural causes, which yes, seem unlikely, but it hasn't been proven. But the point remains. A MAN DIED. At a very young age, entirely unexpectedly. He, presumably, has many loved ones who are currently in shock and haven't even begun to really morn him. Fame aside, money aside, success aside, {censored}ty music aside, he's a man, and he's gone. Yet you prefer to overlook it because of tacky bitterness. Show some {censored}ing respect.
Members aenemated
yeah, he clearly had a great deal of respect for human life as well. Sullivan contributed "A Little Piece of Heaven," a tongue-in-cheek, eight-minute paean to necrophilia and mass murder. The band shot an appropriately gruesome videoclip. guess it ain't so funny now, huh?
Members Mr_GoodBomb
yeah, he clearly had a great deal of respect for human life as well.guess it ain't so funny now, huh? They were a metal band. They didn't look like they do when they started, either. They also didn't get paid nearly as much... or anything, for that matter. Coincidence? I think this is the wrong place to have posted this thread. While I feel that the apes at the amp forum would usually bat something like this around like severely imbred cats, I honestly can say that the last thing they'd weight a person's value on is their public appearance. I just expected more from the more "respectable" crowd here. Guess I shouldn't have.
Members Giorgi
OP - I'm pretty saddened by this as well... I used to like Avenged Sevenfold, not so much right now, but I still enjoy the solos. Anyways, it's sad, and it kinda shocked me as well.

Members Mr_GoodBomb
Wow. I honestly don't give a {censored} who the person is. I don't like the band, and am not worried about any of that. If this is the best kind of responses you can come up with when you hear, "hey, someone passed away," there's something seriously {censored}ed-up wrong with you. Members schiz
While I am surprised by some of the responses in this thread, it also reminds me of why I dont come here much anymore. i have a difficult time feeling bad when a hard-livin, young, rich, rockstar dies. buy the ticket, take the ride. I think some of you have misconstrued what aenemated was trying to say. I have to agree with him 100%! Though it has not been clarified as to what his actually COD was, I think we all know what some of the contributing factors are/were. Am I happy to see someone die? Hell no. But the fact some of you want to weep over the guy getting what was coming sooner than you is just stupid. Consider this; would you rather he led his life and out lived you? When is the time to say, "it was his time?" Clearly he had no respect for his own health. So why the pity? Once again, aenemated is spot on 100% correct. Those of you blasting {censored} about "now he's sucking cock in hell" or "good, he wont make any more {censored}ty music" are childish and need to find something better to do with your time other than trying to get "face time" on the internet. Members dirteye
uhm.... I dug some of there music... kinda agree with the post about buy the ticket take the ride. Loud... Fast... I wouldn't call his passing 'sad'... more of a '{censored} happens' thing.
Members cratz2
It's called tact you {censored} rags. Check it out sometime. I've never felt pity for Hendrix, Bonham, Allman, Rhoads or anyone else that died living the lifestyle, but you pathetic {censored}s that are taking glee in someone dying are kinda messed up. It's threads like this that me me pity the youth and wonder what your mothers were doing while you kids were growing up.

Both are into {censored}ty music, wearing eyeliner, and generally thinking they're way more important than they really are. The difference? As terrible as Avenged Sevenfold's music is, their drummer was atleast fairly talented and could play well.
Members etawful
So just because he may have indulged a bit too much (purely speculation) he deserved the ending he got? It's not that he "deserved" anything. That's not at all what he said. Assuming that he did, in fact, die a lifestyle related death, what aenamated said basically breaks down to the same old cliched warnings: If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. You roll the dice and take your chances. It all equates to the same thing. What you "deserve" has no bearing on it at all. It's what you "risk" that counts. If you engage in high risk activity, you are, in fact, subject to those risks. I'm not now and never was a huge fan of his band. Will I mourn him? Probably not. That doesn't mean I think he deserved it. Do I think that Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, or any number of other talented folks that died because of the lives they chose to live "deserve" it? Nope. I just think that the choices they made caught up to them. Some people take the risk and make it out, others don't. I mean . . . you look at someone like John Lennon whose death was through no fault of his own . . . I'll feel a lot more sympathy for someone like that than I will for someone who, for all intents and purposes, committed suicide (intentionally or not).
