Neck to me looks like a Santana but I can't make out the Serial #. Please take it easy on me if this turns out to be an uber easy Identification...I did try my best and looked all over the PRS Site and a few others before I posted.

its a santana,my friend has one

I think it has been discontinued few years ago

I appreciate it. Thats what I was thinking but the picture was so grainy I couldnt make it out. The guy "upgraded" The Pickups to White EMG's (Not really my thing) and is asking $450(!) for it so I'm going to pass unless he drops the price considerably.

That's one of the first year models, possibly made in Japan. Oddly enough, I prefer the last few years of production models made in Korea with open pickups and bound necks. They have been my main stage guitars for several years now.

Its the first "Santana SE" model and I believe that it says "Made by the World Music Corporation in Korea" on the back.

For years I have played a Santana SE II (similar but with binding and open coil pickups).

To put it bluntly, although they sell for about $350 used, I have never owned a better guitar. It plays smoothly, has a decent weight to it, and is capable of giving me any sound I care to play. I did upgrade the pickups on mine, so if you buy one save a hundred bucks out for that (the stock pickups are decent, but not great).

BTW, welcome to the forum.

I too recently acquired an SE Custom 24. I can't put it down. You can find some crazy low prices out there if you're patient. Great guitars and a great value. It's my number one now. I love the weight, balance, the W/T neck and upper fret access. I'll do a pup swap, but other than that she's a great player. Actually, the stock pups aren't too shabby. Good luck.

SEs were always made in Korea.

Paul had a handful of PRS EGs made in Japan by Yamaha as prototypes in the late 80s but they were never released or put into production.

It seems fairly nice and if I could talk him down to $300-325 for it (Really doubt it, but I might send him a feeler e-mail) I would consider it. Not really exactly what i'm looking for especially with the EMG's since I don't really play much on the heavier side.
