Members mooseeka
I admit, I got this new pickups and was great, but as I kept resoldering (trying differetnpots) I think it took so too much heat and its squealing now..I think some of the wax is been melted...can I fix that my self? Members Norcal_GIT_r
I don't think soldering pickups to the pots would ever heat the pickup to the point of melting the wax potting.I would contact the manufacturer of the pickups and see what they say about your issue. Members bzja
What pickup are you using? Did you buy it new? What are you using to solder desolder the pickup? Wattage is important, too much and you can overheat, not enough and the heat can be sucked away.

Members cratz2
Were you ever applying heat to the pickup or the coil itself? Even inadvertently? I think you could install and remove a pickup about 1,000 times as long as you only soldered the ends of the leads. Not to be insulting, but my take is this... You could probably try your hand at repotting the pickup... just search from online tutorials or how-tos. There was a good one on TDPRI somewhere. On the other hand, if you managed to kill the pickup by heating just the end 8" or 12" from the pickup itself, sounds like you might be kinda reckless with your tools and I'd suggest you be careful, read every step three times and carefully work around head. :poke: Or call and ask if they would repair it for you. I've never dealt with Dimarzio, but since you ordered it directly from them, they might be willing to fix it for free or for the cost of shipping. Members bzja
+.02 I think that if you really did melt the wax it would have been noticeable, either in drips or globs.

Members mooseeka
lol..thanks for the input, I'm just assuming that I caused by that cause I simply cant think of anything else, at the end it is squealing at higher volumes, btw whats TDPRI ?
