Members mockchoi
Okay, so I'm going to be traveling a lot for work for the next 5 months or so, and wanted to get a guitar that can come with me and get thrown in the back of an airplane. One that I wouldn't have to worry too much about it being damaged (cheap). So I was thinking Strat for ergonomic reasons, and tried a bunch of clones, a Starcaster, a bunch of Squier Bullets, and settled on a Squier Affinity. It's my first new guitar in quite some time, and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the amount of guitar you can get for $179 nowadays. When I was first starting to play, that would have bought you a total piece of junk. The neck is quite nice, the pickups aren't bad at all (I didn't care about pickups much anyway) the tuners are nice, the bridge is nice. The only thing that really seems cheap on it is the nut and the knobs. It looks good and plays great. So, we'll see how it holds up. I'm quite pleased and have decided to enter it into the Strat family.
