Members Trotskyismyniec
I'd be at a total loss if somebody did a gear review online and they weren't a pudgy old white dude doing a bunch of pentatonic blues licks through a tube screamer in to a low wattage amp. I certainly can't think of any other scenario when I would be using a guitar, amp or effects pedal in any other way.

Youngsters playing punk are both less picky about their gear and less likely to sit down and write about it. Also, old white dudes are more likely to be able to afford a US-made Strat, Tele, 335 or LP. If you want to know how an Epiphone Goth Explorer with bumper stickers all over it sounds when played through a Marshall half-stack, just go out to the downtown clubs and hear one in action. Buy the kid a beer after his set and he might even let you try it out. Be prepared for it to be tuned to drop-D.

Members golias
Why white It's still the case in America that the vast majority of people rich enough to spend $3000 on a guitar without running up foolish credit card debt are both old and white. I'm not saying it's right. I'm just saying how it is.
Members Trotskyismyniec
I have never seen anybody play an epiphone goth explorer in a 'club downtown'. I think generally epiphones into solid state marshall or valvestate amps are high school battle of the bands territory. In the underground 'clubs' I think I see more than anything Gibson SG Standards into a JCM800 or Sovtek Mig50. Which doesn't help me anyways. Members Trotskyismyniec
you didn't, but I can't imagine someone that can afford a good tube amp playing an epiphone goth. I don't know if I've even seen anyone older than 16 have bumper stickers.
Members Trotskyismyniec
look, I'm not telling everyone what guitars they can own or who can review what, or that i deserve things to be reviewed a certain way. I'm just saying I want a brazilian schoolgirl to show me what a parker fly sounds like through a Sunn model-t by playing diminished chords and improvising on the whole tone scale. geeez. Members SoliDeoGloria
Not gonna point out the obvious(troll is troll?) but im sure if you type the extra word "jazz" or "classical" or "__genre__" in your google/bing/youtube review search then it might yield better results? ALso, OVERALL: 10 I've played rock, jazz, and blues guitar in bands for 25 years, I've played nearly every piece of gear there is and I can say that this guitar, amp, pedal, and or pickup is the best out there and if someone stole it I'd track them down and and beat th &@ out of them. Members aenemated
considering the average level of apparent intelligence and perception of pudgy blues guys, they'd be better off if someone else got their inflated accountant/middle-management wages. Members Trotskyismyniec
I've forwarded this thread to the secret service. All accountant bluesmen will be sent to FEMA camps shortly. Remember, the internet IS serious business, especially when music and stratification are involved.
