Members MatteusNova
Two years ago, or two winters ago, we had the warmest winter here for at least 250 years. Normally we have temperatures on the minus side. -1 to -5 normally. That year it was +2 - +5 every day, from Dec - Feb.

Members bsman
I don't feel inclined to argue about climate trends, aerosols, orbital perturbations or other such ephemera with a bunch of guitarist with questionable bona fides. However, I will say that it's been quite nice here in NorCal! :p:p
Members jrockbridge
I live just north of Colorado Springs, Colorado. We get days that feel like spring in the middle of winter followed by the typical cold fronts and snow. The ground stays white all winter because I live within the trees. It's been VERY cold and icy the last couple of days, but we only got a light dusting of snow. No school delays....just traffic delays. As for all the global warming stuff. Unfortunately, that whole theory became less about science and more about a political agenda long ago. We should welcome all scientific theories equally and save our judgment for how they hold up to testing. But, these days popular science rules they day instead of hard science. I don't pretend to understand it all. I don't trust big machines that run over small entities. The global warming group use their clout to shut down apposing voices and theories out of the community. That doesn't prove that global warming is false, but it sure does stink! This is the way of politics and NOT science. Shame on them!
Members foppy
Looking at the title, I just had the feeling this would be one of those "it's cold today, therefore global warming is a myth" threads. Why isn't this pitiful thing redirected?
Members prodrigu
Write a nice letter to that arrogant blowhard, Albert Gore, reminding him of how the earth is drastically warming up and we are all going to boil to death if we are not taxed to death first.A little more on topic...yes Europe is getting hammered by arctic weather, and since most citizens have succumbed to the Global Warming brainwashing they are perplexed. Well, get used to it, because the planet is entering a very cool period and things are only going to get worse.A lot more on topic...if you have some arthritis, like I have, the very last thing you need is playing in any cold environment. I need a nice warm place for my fingers to relax and try to work. The real problem addresses by real scientists is not called "Global Warming" but "Climate Change". This thread just proves the point. Frets99
You guys got a choice. Closed thread or moved to PP. I didn't mind the talk about it being cold today. Guitarists get cold too. But climate change arguments are good for wait for it.... Absolutely nothing... say it again, y'all!! J/K but the choices still stand.
Members wok
although it is absolutely baltic up here, how can you argue with this?
Members knotty
So says you. Personally I believe the 97.5% of qualified scientists who study and publish on the earth's climate who have good evidence that climate change is real, and due to human activity. Who are you and what is your background that means that your contrary opinion should be given any serious consideration? 98% of statistics are made up. We need a place to beeyatch about how cold it is, our frozen fingers, lost gigs, shivering guitars, etc. Howzabout we promise to leave Al Gore out of it and just use this space to bond about our incipient frostbite, aggravated arthritis and swollen joints? Actually, maybe I should've phrased that last bit slightly differently ...

I actually like threads that show guitarists as multi-faceted individuals but I really don't want any PPfoolery here if it can at all be helped. And we do have a few members for who hold to a strict fundamentalist interpretation of the rules and prefer there to only be electric guitar related threads here.Swollen joint threads appear to be a favorite amongst guitarists, however. Members Steadfastly
Any of you Americans following the weather here in UK......Enough to freeze the frets off a Strat!!!!Snow and ice everywhere. Thousands of schools closed , huge disruptions. Worst for 20years. Worse to come apparently this weekend. I know it's bad for you guys because you're not use to it, but I have to smile because where I grew up, that would hardly be considered a storm, a snowfall, yes, but it would only be a storm if it was accompanied by high winds and lots of drifting. Regards, Flip.
