So I'm probably going to be changing out the pups in my strat again pretty soon, and i think for budget reasons I might only install the bridge pup, and then later come back and do the middle and neck. So if I do this, that means for some period of time I would have two empty holes in the pickguard.

I dont feel like leaving the old ones in there (hooked up or not.) Does anyone have any ideas of something epic I could put in there? I was thinking try to turn it into like a strat chia-pet, but something tells me that's not really a great idea.

How about,...pieces of wood about the same size as the p'ups, wrapped in some XMas wrapping, the color of your choice. Just stuck in the holes with some double sided tape in the cavity. That would be cheap.

L.E.D lights but, they need a battery. Maybe too much hassle.

Two little "Vacancy" signs?

A cardboard filler that fits perfectly in the holes. The neck pup card board has written on it, Q:What is a nerd?

The middle pup hole filler reads, A:Someone who owns a classical guitar.

or the joke of your choice. Or a message to those nosy enough to have a good look.
