The pickups in that Classic player's '50's strat (57/62 set with RWRP middle) should be as good or better than the GFS stuff. I would suggest playing with the height adjustments on them to find their sweet spot.

Specs from Fender's site:

Designed by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Dennis Galuszka, the '50s Stratocaster guitar features an alder body, a maple neck with a 9.5" radius, 21 medium jumbo frets and Gotoh

not familiar with that amp. What have you been playing through at the store while testing these strats out? Are they too bright sounding or are you prefering the noiseless type?

i think i played it through a deville. i'm into the noiseless pups though, and want something a little hotter than the standard strat pups.

the heywhat is a straight hiwatt clone.
