Hey guys, just a couple quick questions about the Bigsby trems.

I'm gonna be putting one on my build, and I'm gonna go with the B5 shape since it's a flat top.

On the Bigsby site they have a B5 and a B50, and it doesn't really say what the difference is. Anybody know?

Also, I've seen a couple Bigsby LICENSED on eBay.. is that like a Floyd Rose Licensed? ie. should I stay the hell away from 'licensed'?

Thanks dudes

B5 is American made, sand cast, and the roller rolls thanks to pin bushings.

B50 is an import, die cast, and the roller rolls thanks to pin bushings.

The screw layout to mount is also slightly different between the two.

Thanks man! Think I'll go with a B5 then
:thu:

@alpha: I'll have to walk on the wild side man.. might be fun to build a cursed guitar haha

Now that I think of it...Gretsch is even a part of the FMIC....so please go on ahead. Make sure to disturb some graves with the tree that the guitar was made of and then pour some blood in it or something...make sure its definitely cursed

I think the Fender-branded B5's look more classic on a Tele, but they also require moving the vibrato unit slightly closer to the bridge, which is already quite cramped, I think the Bigsby branded one fits better.

The B16 is pretty darn sexy too, though I've heard the bridge can cause issues.

well this build is going to be a Jagstang shaped body.. hmm, the Fender branded B5 might look pretty damn sexy on it..

Is there very much of a difference between the two?

Same thing, Bigsby makes the F-logo part. don't know if the screw appatern is different.
