Members MLattack
An Explorer with a Floyd. I've fallen in love with my explorer for lead guitar. Just so smooth and fat sounding compared to my V. IMO the Explorer is the best sounding guitar for rock out of the gibson family. So comfortable to play too. Members -Assy-
quite positive the shape of a guitar will hardly effect its toanz, but explorers ARE pretty rad guitars.

I've had an explorer and V with the same pups and there was quite a difference in tone.I don't think it's the shape, but probably the unchambered bigger chunk of mahagony that made the explorer sound thicker and darker. Members Blackhell
I still like the idea of this one: I'm building my next one. I got all the part except the body.
