well i got the guitar in yesterday. for those who don't know about the guitar jj gave away, here's the thread

http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=2512007

it's everything he said it was. a wonderfully used, beat up, plywood strat. i thank everyone who offered parts for this guitar, but i wound up having just enough parts to get this thing together. really all it needed was a bridge, jack, pickup, pot, and some screws.

i had a generic hardtail bridge i was going to use for another project. and i also had a 250k CTS pot to use as well. i put a duncan designed hb103 in for now.

all in all, not bad for a ply bodied guitar. on to the pics.

i've got some ideas floating around in my head on what kind of finish to do for this guitar. here's where HC comes in. i want any and all ideas for a finish. i have someone waiting to paint this, but i want to hear from the HC community.

leave it as is? pimp the hell out of it? simple is better? give me details people.

for now, i'm just gonna play it and piss people off with it. but let me know what your ideas are.

ready.................set.......................GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get some black paint and strip the body of all hardware.

Paint the treads of an old tire black and roll the tire over the body.

Let dry and reinstall all the hardware.

Then rock the {censored} out of that roadkill guitar.

my wife did that to one of my son's t-shirts. not a bad idea in this case.

cool, i think that neck is one i gave JJ several years ago...
:thu:

but, either paint the body or rough up the headstock so they match :poke:

yup tht's your old one - Brendan finished it in nitro to match the tele body he made for me

the frets and feel of that neck are top notch - the shape just wasn't as right for me as another I'd had for years that came available when I sold the body it was on

gotta be the nicest finished Squier neck around

i luvs me a squier neck. they seem to fit me so much better than a thicker/wider neck

it is thinner. 41mm if i remember correctly... wasn't a good neck for me starting out as a beginner. i could probably play it much better now...

glad it's working for you silverring !!! rock that thing :rawk:
