That certainly fueled my GAS!
what model is that?

And lowbrow your Gretschs =

It's a Country Classic Junior. The body is a little smaller than a standard Country Classic. It was from 1999, if I remember correctly. They're somewhat rare and tend to sell in the $1200 to $1400 range if you can find one.

zuzuman......where did you get the clear pickguard? I need one for my '63-64 Tennessean.

A lot of the new Electromatics come with the clear pickguard. Have you looked at the Gretsch site? You might find it there. If not, find a local Gretsch dealer. They should be able to get one for you.

Here's mine:

My #1:

Plus my trusty acoustic...this was my only guitar for nearly the entire decade 1998-2008. A $70 pawn shop score...cheap, MIK model, but rarer than hen's teeth--apparently only made for about a year and only for the Euro market. How it ended up in a pawn shop in the middle of nowhere, Oklahoma is beyond me:

The "Red Robot" Bo Diddley model has become my favorite guitar. I bought it mainly because of the oddball/cool factor, but as it turns out, it's very comfy to play either standing or sitting and after adjusting the pup height and swapping the cap out (per TartanPhantom's advice) it sounds really good.

I had the pup rings, pickguard and truss rod custom made out of silver sparkle plastic by John from Terrapin Guitars (great prices and service.)

This is the one that will be buried with me.

I actually had the silver double jet up for sale because I was so hard up for cash, but it plays like butter and I like the stock mini-hums.

I would really, really, really like a Tennessee Rose or a 6120 someday.

By the way, that White Penguin is hotter than hell.

Other than having to have a Tele-like guitar, I could easily make do with nothing but Gretsch stuff.

This was an ex girlfriend's father's.

I wanted to stay with her for the guitar (I loved that thing) but she was quite the turdburger after a while.

Don't date on wood alone. Or something thoughful and lesson teaching.

Anyway, I will own one someday.
