Members micmike
Hey guys I'm in Australia and our dollar is pretty strong right now, so I was going to buy a few items online. Strings, picks, Capo, patch cables, leads, pedal case (maybe) etc Any recommended stores for great prices and products?

Members Saturn
I don't know about shipping to Australia but my favorites are American Musical Supply and Sweetwater.
Members Tezmond
Choice is pretty limited , its more a case of finding any one who will ship to Aus.GFS does (fast too) I think Stewie Mack does too, but as for new guitars your gonna be struggling.Have a look on the American E-Bay for Stores, might be something there. Members tomcatluc
The Euro is also a strong currency an I order my strings at www.nekymusic.com A set of elixir strings is 8 to 8.50 dollar (about 6 euro). Here in Belgium (and Germany, Holland..) they are at least 14 euro's (on line). Last month I ordered 4 sets and they came within a week for less than 30 dollar. As long as the dollar stays week, I will keep on ordering strings whith Neky. Good service also: the first order went wrong, and they sended me an extra set of strings... If you order pedals, beware of customs. I don't know what they charge in Australia, but that could increase your profit.

Members hellion_213
I shop around a bunch, but have only ordered from MusiciansFriend, GFS, and MojoMusicalSupply. No problems from either.

Also in OZ - GFS yes but specialised, Musicians Friend will ship some items unless it contravenes a supplier agreement - this rules out most guitars, Have purchased some pedals from http://www.guitareffectspedals.com with no issues
Members Woody_in_MN
I don't know abut shipping down under, but I have not had problems with MUSIC123, or MusiciansFriend. Another thought - both bing and discover card offer small discounts for online stores. That might help to offset the shipping costs. - w
Members guitarman3001
The ones I've had the fewest problems with are MF/M123/WWBW. Sweetwater has been hit or miss. They did give me some good deals and a price match on a LP to make up for the wechter acoustic cluster{censored} but my biggest issue with them has been shipping. They've always shipped my items several days after they told me they'd ship. And their post-sale followup has been less than stellar. Three weeks ago I had a problem with a delivery that fedex messed up, I called them to get them to investigate, they said they'd get in touch with fedex and call me right back. I'm still waiting for that call..... Fortunately, I have some honest neighbors and it turns out that fedex delivered the package to a house about 4 blocks away from me. The people contacted me the next day. Still waiting for sweetwater's return call... I'd still order from them but they probably wouldn't be my first choice right now. Those are the only ones I've ordered from so I can't speak for others like AMS or samedaymusic.
Members weather.at.8
AmericanMusicalSupply.com is the tops in my book. Their website is total {censored}, but they have amazing customer service through email and phone. I do my window shopping through music123 and musiciansfriend, and then have AMS pricematch (*if necessary*). Their payment plan is great too - 3 or 5 equal payments, shipped as soon as you place the order. How can you go wrong?

I found out about the mic cable deal (three 20' cables for 9.95) and called and ordered it. My first order with them. Are they willing to haggle even if it's not a price match? MF and M123 will usually give you 10% if you ask for it, 15% if you are persistent enough, and on rare occasions 20% if the stars align just right once every hundred years. Members nuke_diver
I've had the best luck with Sweetwater but I've never ordered a guitar from them. But for shipping to Oz... be best to check shipping policies before even considering ordering from any of the big places (MF, GC etc). I know in the past folk in Canada have had issues getting stuff from these guys though I think it is ok now...but if they have problems image what shipping across 10,000miles of ocean will cause
