Members Baddass
At 799 bucks they look like a pretty good deal.I would like to play one. Like the 70's style logo on it.Anyone have any thought's on them .http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-American-Special-Telecaster-Electric-Guitar?sku=584387 I really like the white one. I know a few guy's here did'nt like the white necks but it would age nicely.I also like those new Squire custom teles .Those look like a decent deal
Members bsman
Seems like a nice guitar at a fairly reasonable price. If you like the Hwy 1 series but aren't a fan of the funky finish, this one might work for you. Of course, the haters will tell you that the urethane finish will totally kill all tone.... Members Prages
It looks like it's a Highway 1 with a gloss finish. I'm not a big fan of the faded or satin finishes, so I like this new model more than the Highway 1 based on that alone. Never played one or even seen one in person though. Members dlxrev
Seems like it is too close to a Classic Vibe Squier to me. Too much $$$ when the CV exists.

My guess it's for someone who want's a decent American made guitar:thu:that you don't have to sell the wife and kids for.
Members doc oc
I would rather have the honey blonde HWY1 texas.Put a blackguard on and buff it and you have a much nicer guitar IMHO.
Members favata5
Honestly? If I had to have an American Tele,I would grab it! Otherwise Ill keep my classic vibe!
Members Strat87
I actually played one today at GC and for the first time was blown away by a tele. I've never jived with teles before but this one almost followed me home. I'm not a fan of jumbo frets, but besides that it was a wonderful guitar at a great price point. Plus I like the Texas Special more than the Alnico 3s on the HW1.
Members Oldskool Texas
The one I saw had enormous frets - I didn't even want to play it. Good price, but with American Standards going for $200 more... I dunno.
