Members cfernnn
Anyone suggest a replacement guitar for a 2003 gibson melody maker (single coil pickup) ??? Mine has a major issue w/the neck and it's going to cost $200 to $250 to repair...which makes me think I might as well buy a new guitar since the melody maker cost me $300 new. My price range is $200 - possibly $300. The guitar tech guy i took the MM to said I could find a way better guitar for that price range than purchasing another MM of this kind Any suggestions??? I've been looking...but I'm so indecisive...I end up wanting everything thanks

Members Mr_GoodBomb
Get a Faded SG or MIM tele and sell the hardware and unloaded body on Ebay, you'll make 30 from the bridge, 40-50 from the tuners, 50-70 from the pickup and pickguard, 100 or more from the body even with the screwed-up neck well-advertised... The tuners are not the best - but everything else about it is very appealing. - w

Members Elias Graves
OK, this is a little different direction, but worth a look. You could mod the pickups into whatever you wanted but you're getting an all mahogany set neck guitar with decent pickups and decent hardware for $250.http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Limited-Edition-Wilshire-Electric-Guitar?sku=518527EG
