Members BlackCat
I guess Gretsch Corvette could be considered quirky. I mean it's not a Les Paul or a Strat. I recently pulled an old Univox that my ex rescued from the trash out of the back of my closet. My repair guy is trying to do something with it so depending on how it turns out I may be playing that. By the way that Custom Kraft is wild looking. Are those real humbuckers on it or single coils with big covers?

Members BlackCat
Singles with huge covers. That seems to have been a popular thing to do on Japanese guitars of that time. Same thing on my Univox.
Members Kap'n
This one's in the process of being rebuilt. Pickups being rewound as we speak.

Members Guttermouth
my current fave is this 59 silvertone u-1: i'm also fond of my hiflyer : and finally found the rest of the stuff to put this back together : as an aside - the quirkiness of this is too much for me: don't know what it is but i just ain't bonding with it
Members Kap'n
Show your stuff! That Custom Kraft looks pretty groovy, but also like an intonation nightmare.

It was made by Valco in the U.S its the same pictups in the airline and supro guitars.

Members Kap'n
I was thinking more the straight bar, even though it's not an issue with Gretsches, really.

Members HanSolo
The Conrad plays crazy good, like a brand new strat. With the tone boost off, it sounds like a Fender Mustang. With the boost in it sounds like a ballsy strat. It is a great guitar, I had one just like it back in HS so I jumped this one when I saw it. It's in near-mint condition. The amp is the first year they went SS. It sounds pretty honky. Reverb is a hoot. Sounds like you fell down the well and hit your head on the way down. Members tartanphantom
Now that's quirky! That's also "stock"! No, it's NOT painted. It's actually MOLDED in that pattern! I think Kingston spent more on extruding that fancy pickguard than they did on the rest of the guitar!
