Members svai
Signature guitars are great if they play well, sound amazing, and enhance your playing. I checked out a few models this year at Namm and loved the following guitars. JS Ibanez (with single coil in the neck) Van Halen EVH Chris Impellitteri signature Dean model Dave Mustain zero signature model Steve Vai ( As always felt very comfortable) Petrucci Music Man signature model
Members guitarmandp
I can't imagine why it would matter to you exactly, seeing as you have mentioned you only buy guitars to speculate. There are plenty of sig models that are worth money. Actually I was being sarcastic. Although you could argue that what I buy "tribute" guitars are something different than signature guitars. The only thing I don't like about signature guitars is having somebody elses name on the headstock.
Members Lex.Luthier
how is this different than any other JEM? Its not really supposed to be different. Its a JEM 7V with a maple fretboard and Ibanez pickups instead of Dimarzios. It also costs $1,000 less than a 7V.
Members C-4
I own three sigs -- a Jeff Beck Strat, a Jerry Donahue Tele and a PRS Santana SE. Jeff Beck has been one of my all-time faves since I was a kid; JD and Carlos are players I tend to admire from a distance. In each case, I got the instrument on its own merits -- not because I try to play like its endorser or specifically want to cop their mojo.+
