Members Maess
Anyone know if G&L used nitro? I need to pick out a new stand.

Members tiltsta
Poly for most of their lineup, but some of the rustic vintage aged models are supposedly nitro. I buy only nitro safe stands, as after a while I forget which stands are safe and which are not.
Members Carbohydrates
Poly only. I don't know of a single exception.

Nitro G&Ls! Kickass. But don't worry, OP, they're the exception, not the rule. Yours is gonna be poly unless specifically stated otherwise. Members metallica_00
Poly. Very durable finishes - the guitars stay very new looking. Just as a technicality, I believe the rustics (ie relics) are nitro over poly or some sort of catalyzer...not a pure nitro. But most fenders are that way too from my understanding. Members Invader.CC
G&L Did not call there finish Nitro cellulose like Fender...They call there finish by the correct name for the same type paint..Which is Lacquer nothing more nothing less it is the same finish that Ford put on the model T and millions of cars have been painted with it since... The whole Nitro thing is creative marketing by Fender that has worked....All early model G&L's were painted with Lacquer....The original SC-1,SC-2,SC-3,S-500,Nighthawk and others i'm not remembering at this time..
