Members PancakeBunny
Tweed, brown, blonde, black, silver... whatever. What amp from what era do you consider to be THE quintessential Fender amp. Is it the Fender original tweed Bassman? The blackface Super Reverb? Tweed Deluxe? Or is it something else entirely? Maybe the Champ? What is the best Fender amp?

Members DonK
I'm a Fender amp fanatic and have owned 75% of the models they've ever made. I'll go with the Twin, but the Deluxe Reverb is a close second.
Members Saturn
I'm not a Fender amp guy but I would go with the Deluxe Reverb.
Members RocknRollOver
the only fender amp ive ever played out of was a blues jr. and for its size the sound was amazing
Members Orange Jackson
The Twin is pretty much everything I need. It's a heavy mother though. Love that sound. The old tweeds are bad ass too. .
Members Special J
It's gotta be the Twin Reverb for me.
Members bloolight
The blackface Deluxe Reverb, without a doubt. It's the absolute foundation of my sound, and I couldn't imagine playing with another amp at this point.
Members Furtive
Greatest, or quintessential? Two different things, imo. Greatest would probably be the 5F6-A tweed Bassman, for it's sound, and how it inspired Marshall. Pretty hard to argue an amp that has remained very popular for over 50 years. Quintessential would be the Twin Reverb. Big loud clean Fender tone. My personal favorite is either the 5E4-A tweed Super, or the 5E9-A Tremolux. Members PancakeBunny
I'm surprised at all the people saying the Twin. Maybe it's that quintessential part. I'd argue that there are other Fender amps that sound just as good clean... that can actually overdrive. I think the Twin is nice, but is a one trick pony. Members cratz2
If we're talking 'greatest' and not 'quintessential', I'd have to say the various Deluxes and Deluxe Reverbs from the 5E3s and the 763s. If you don't actually need the headroom of the Twin, the Deluxe is where it's at. I'd been more of a Twin guy most of my guitar playing life but this 5E3 clone... Man. It's absolutely unbelievable how versatile those three knobs can be. Smokey and jazzy, clean and almost classic Fender, raunchy, biting or bordering into vintage Marshall territory. Great amp. The Twin is also great in it's own way and in a lot of ways, it is superior, but the 5E3 with a dirt pedal in front of it responds completely different than a Twin with the same dirt pedal unless the Twin is being driven CRAZY loud. Members Citizen_Insane
I love my Deluxe Reverb, but I'd have to vote for the Twin. It's by far the best sounding Fender amp I've played. Too bad it's way too heavy and loud for me. I can't see myself ever wanting to lug around a 100lb 100watt amp. Maybe someday I'll spring for a head/cab setup, but until I'm rich, I think I'll stick with my DRRI.
Members Josh S
I'm all about the Twin. It fits my style the best, sounds best with my pedals, and just suits me. If I had to play a Fender amp at this point instead of piles of old Hiwatts, it would be a Twin. I've never got on well with Basmans... Or Marshalls for that matter. Members Faber
I'd say it's a tie between the Bassman and Super Reverbs. The clean out of the Bassman is severely underrated

Members o.versteer
The blackface Deluxe Reverb, without a doubt. It's the absolute foundation of my sound, and I couldn't imagine playing with another amp at this point. I'm severely biased on this as well, but +1 for me. Thinking about getting a DRRI to go with my BF original just for kicks. It'd be an awesome (and yet very luggable) 2-amp setup.
