Members Darkstorm
I find myself preferring them for guitar due to the small tone tweak the neck pups placement give. A little further out from the bridge. I still prefer 24 for bass guitar though.
Members *BLEEP*
Well, I can tell you that I don't care at all for Gibsons that have 24 fret necks on a typical Gibson 24.75 inch scale. The neck pickup move that's required for a 24 fret neck on a Gibson just screws up the balance between the bridge pickup and the neck pickup. Members Darkstorm
Yeah Reality Check. I wondered about that when I saw theyd made a 24 fret version. Cause Ive noticed I like how the neck pup on 22 fret Jacksons sounds better to me then on the 24 fret neck versions. I kinda figure it'd be even more noticeable with short scale guitars. Its subjective and personal sound pref. And part of why I like the tones I get from 22 fret dinky better then those I got from prev 24 fret ones. I wish more mfg offered the option in their mid to upper level import models.

Members csm
22 works for me on my Jeff Beck Strat (as opposed to Fender's traditional 21) because it allows me to bend up to a high E via two semitones rather than three. As for 24s -- never used one.
Members jds22
I prefer the tone of a neck pup on a 22 fret guitar. I prefer the upper fret access on a 24 fret guitar. Everything is a compromise.

Members adastra87
25 or 25.5 scale, 24 frets, or no thanks. With the single exception of my Carvin CT6C, which has 22 frets.
Members flummox
I never play high enough for it to matter, so 22 is fine but 24 isn't a deal-breaker. If it sounds good, it's good.

Members ballhawk
76. Oh wait.... that's trombones. I like 21, 22, and 24 with all the scale lengths. Picking up different and getting into their subtle differences is always fun and a learning experience. However, I can see why some would stay with what they prefer. different strokes.
