Members MarioC
The Alinco Classic Plus pickups are great and I have not problem with them. I was wondering if anyone new weather the coils could be split? I would like to get that single coil sound for some songs. By the way is it the Limited Custom Chrome and I just got it before Christmas 09 from GC.
Members vintage clubber
The stock pickups are going to be two conductor. You would need to replace them with pickups that come with 4 conductor wiring so you can split the coils.
Members _pete_
Remove the rear cover and look at the pup leads. If each one has 2 wires that are soldered together and taped off (or one wire that is taped off), then you can split the coils. You can rewire a 2 conductor humbucker for splitting but it involves disassembling the pickup and splicing into it's internal wiring. Don't try it if you don't know what you're doing. It's easier to just replace the pups anyway.
