Members peavey_impact
-Washburn WG587: Bought one before...returned it the next day. Just horrible IMO. Lol damn! What was horrible about it? I had bought mine brand new for about $175 years ago and all it needed was a slight fret level and a bridge pickup swap before it shredded like a mofo. I sold it to a friend of mine and bought an 8-string guitar but that was a mistake. I'll be buying my next 7 in a couple months

The frets were sharp and not flush with the neck.It sounded terrible and I saw no point of upgrading the guitar by putting more money into pickups. Hell,it wouldn't even really intonate properly. The guitar seemed to be of the lowest possible quality to me. I would rather buy a Dean Vendetta VNXM 7-String for the money. Just my opinion though. Members Jim_Soloway
If bang for the buck is the primary criteria, the my vote would go to the Schecter Blackjack 7 with the 26.5" scale length.

Funny that you bring the Blackjack up,I almost asked about it in comparison to the Loomis and Hellraiser. How do they compare? Also,is the Blackjack ATX C-7 a real step up from the standard Blackjack C7? One drawback against the Blackjacks that I see is that they aren't available with a tremolo as far as I know. Members DeadNight Warrior
Find an Ibanez RG7620 If you're looking 2nd hand, it's hard to beat the RG7620. I'd loaned mine to someone for a while... finally got it back a few weeks back with the intention of selling it... ... put some new strings on it, plugged it in... ... yeah, I can't sell that thing. Members fistacuffs
Another +1 for an rg 7621 They are really well built guitars and the neck is great. If you live in the US, the resale for Ibanez is terrible. If you looked, you could probably find one for $250. Nothing could beat that!
