I understand that a hot pickup compared to a medium output pickup is going to give more output. What about PAF? I know that indicates it has more of a vintage output, like 50s era Gibson. But how does that translate to the sound?? I'm looking for clarity, chime, sustain, bite, twang, and pop. Will a lower output give me less bite and snarl? Are the PAF style pickups better for certain sounds? Any light you can shed in my dark corner would garner a hearty "thanks." Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
