Members SmoothOcean
I got an email from http://www.vintagecityguitars.com/ asking to buy a guitar from me that I had up on craigslist. I've never herd of the website and they said they would pay me the price I was asking for. I just want to know if this site is legit and if anyone has ever used it before? Thank you in advance. Members MichaelSaulnier
We probably should make one of these weekly questions into a "sticky". - They are a "real" and "legal" business. - They do NOT want to pay you your asking price, unless your price was in fact about 50% below the market. - They DO want you to send your guitar to them for appraisal, at your expense, and then they will send you a low offer. - If you do NOT accept their offer, YOU have to PAY to get your guitar back. I can't see any reason for a sensible person to do business with them. M
Members Carbohydrates
They will have you send them your guitar (you pay shipping). They will send you a check. If you like the price, you keep the check. If you don't, and you probably won't, then you return the check and pay for them to ship back your guitar again. As you can probably tell, this arrangement favors them quite a bit.

Members MONGOOZ
keep in mind..... possession is 9/10ths of the law in other words.....if you send a guitar to them and then DON'T like the offer......prepare to have to go to court to get it back. i don't know how the law hasn't come in and shut them down

Members Beckman
They are not too far from Elderly Music. I would rather do business with them after reading all of this. Though, I don't have any vintage instruments.
