Members Plotex
Hi!I've got a pretty decent offer to buy a Fender Telecaster Custom 72 made in japan. It's from 1984, E series. Are E series japan Fenders a lot better instruments than mexican classic series from 2000s?
Members akapuli
I think yes, but you need to test the guitar first yourself. Good luck!
Members zenbu
don`t own any MIMs, did own some E serials, sold em... and they came in different model numbers...some high ends, some not. Whats it say in the neck pocket? Not sure how the Es attainted this mythical status but I sold mine because I have better examples of MIJ Fenders from that time period...now, I`d love to get my hands on a top end E serial just to see what they are like...but I`ve only seen em on line and they were not cheap. Not sure how the Es attainted this mythical status Seemingly solely by virtue that they were almost as good as JVs:facepalm: And as we know there was a good amount of variation in the JVs Reckon it's simply worth taking each guitar on it's own merit and forget any of the glittery language associated with serial numbers. When all is said and done, at best you get a very good guitar and at worst you get something with mythical status
