Members Mr_GoodBomb
lol...I bet half the kids in the crowd asked themselves why they were playing the theme to csi. That's what my parents said. They know The Who, but they said "this is the theme from CSI, the one on Tuesdays," and during the second song they said "this is the one on Wednesdays... I bet they'll play the one from Thursdays next," and they did.
Members tlbonehead
If that was "great" I sure would hate to see "bad"... the drummer was good and Daltry's voice was good. Pete's vocals/harmonies were all over the place, and WHO knows what he was playing. And not signature bright crunch.
Members xStonr
My first impression was that Entwhisle was missed, Daltrey sounded off, and who is this drummer that they are keeping the camera on. But after the first song or two, I asked myself the same thing. Pete did have a few good licks thought. CBS, CSI...no wonder The Who played those songs. Members Josh S
That light show was beyond epic though! Holy {censored}! And the custom painted cymbals? {censored} yeah!!
Members pvwolfgang5150
I liked it. One of the better halftime shows. Great game too.
Members HeatherAnnePeel
I thought it was good. I saw the Who in 1979, and while this wasn't up to that, it was certainly enjoyable. Zak Starkey did and amazing job, as well.
Members Crunchtime
Agree with OP. I think Pete was playing air guitar and was out of sync.
Members doc oc
Best geri band at halftime in recent memory was Petty and the heartbreakers.I thought they did much better than the stones or the who
Members mutant_guitar
Or even Rush?? Man, I would love to see that. Just imagine, 20 minutes of Rush instrumentals. I was disappointed by The Who
Members guitarman3001
it's disappointing to see so many musicians say they sucked. like I said on another thread, The Who was never known to be a technical band like say....dream theater or someone like that. Nor do they have vocals like pavarotti. They're a raw rock n roll band. Maybe modern music is so bad that everyone, including musicians, have gotten conditioned to lip syncing and auto tune and have forgotten what real rock performances are like. Granted, this was not even close to their best performance but remember they're old as hell! Give them a break! I wonder if when you guys are all 172 years old you'll be up there rocking the stage like these guys!
Members Josh S
Man, I would love to see that. Just imagine, 20 minutes of Rush instrumentals. They could just play Villa Strangeato :love:
Members joseflovesyou
Well, the Who are a terrible terrible band, what did you expect? You lose all artistic credibility when you sell you're generic douche bag music for a commercial. {censored} the Who.

Members Osiris Risen
It's kind of sad when the band is upstaged by the stage. But to be fair, the stage did have some nifty flashing lights.
Members Clinically Deaf
also, Tom Petty was pretty good... This. I really liked Tom Petty that one year too. How many years ago was that? Was that two superbowls ago?
Members IdaCrue
Was not impressed with the show at all. The Who was never my favorite band, and I was around in the 60's, but tonight they just really sucked. I did notice that when the scream from Won't Get Fooled Again was played, they didn't show Roger....Maybe it was a dubbed scream that he just couldn't pull off anymore. Members gtrjones
It was disappointing. Daughtry sounded like {censored}. How about getting Eric Clapton or the Allman Bros or Govt Mule to do the halftime show? Or even Rush?? WTF is a Daughtry???
Members jhphoto
man the hate is just sweltering in here, who did you expect? rihanna? {censored} that i think people are reading way too much into this performance
Members SeanJovi
The Who sang "I hope I die before I get old."Then they got old. They're not rebellious youths smashing guitars and blowing up amps anymore, so I think a lot of what The Who was known for has faded away.

Could have been completely canned, but I don't think that's what they did.
