Members steve_man
So, I think I'm gonna get a new bridge/tailpiece for my Epiphone Les Paul. Question is, do I have the large pole pieces, or the smaller ones? Don't have a Gibson to compare it to. How are Jay's bridges at Guitarfetish? Any better than a stock Epi version? Don't really want to drop $100 on a bridge, so I was exploring some of the cheaper options. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks...
Members vintage clubber
You'll need the larger bushing screws for that...
Members Clinically Deaf
I did the same thing with my epi last year. I bought mine from Warmoth as they have in stock both the large and small pole piece bridges. If your bridge pole piece has a slit for a flat screwdriver then it is the large one. I actually have both bridge systems and both work equally well.
Members steve_man
when you say "both systems," which two do you mean?
Members Wyatt
Neither of the Gibson bridges fit (the two Gibsons are the vintage-style ABR-1, which uses posts that screw into the wood, and "modern" Nashville, which uses bushings; there are other differences including post spacing). The Epi's use the import metric TOM, which uses larger posts than either of the Imperial-measurement Gibsons. make sure what you buy fits an Epi, if it fits a Gibson, chances are it doesn't fit an Epi. Members Clinically Deaf
When I say both I mean I have both the narrow pole piece system and the wider pole piece system on two different guitars. This is the wide pole piece system and the one that I used on my Epiphone Les Paul Std+http://www.warmoth.com/Gotoh-Tune-O-Matic-C710.aspx This is the narrow pole piece system and I have it on another guitar as well.http://www.warmoth.com/TonePros-Tune-O-Matic-C711.aspx
Members steve_man
So, are the measurements different on different Epis? I figured it might be a bit different than a Gibson. Did you order a specific model for your Epi?
