Just saw this 1981 XR1 Goldburst on ebay Looks nice

From Gibson wiki

The XR 1 is the prelude to the Les paul studio. The studio came out in 1983, and so the XR1 ran from 81-83. It is also arguably better due to weight difference and the flexibility in pickup selection.

I own an '82 XR-1. It's a really good guitar. Heavy as a cinderblock but great round tones. The coil tap allows a lot of versatility. Plays really good. Nice chunky neck. The tuners on mine are a little below average but serviceable. I've had people make reasonable offers for it on a couple occasions, but I'm never getting rid of it 'cuz it's a gift from my Dad and I plan to keep it in the family forever.
